From Guest Blogger Abby: It’s nice to meet you, fellow DEI Adventurer!  I am Abby Dryer, Domain Leader of all Guilds. Should you have ideas for new adventures, or would like your corporate space to generate their own program, I would love to discuss them with you. Feel free to drop a note here, and we shall schedule a time to meet.  You can find the starter-adventure of Choose Your Own DEI Adventure on DriveThruRPG. Learn more below.

Welcome weary DEI Adventurers, it is good to see you!  Have you come to seek new and interesting adventures in the realm of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion? You’ve come to the right place!  I have created a new program to help with your search. While it was originally conceived for corporate spaces, there is a link to a portal where all can play.

Interested? Wonderful!

As you embark on this adventure, you must first choose your Guild. This will help you decide which paths are best suited to your unique skills.

Are you a Warrior?  Excited to be out in the fray, fighting injustice and socio-economic inequities head on?  Warriors are leaders of adventure parties that volunteer in a vast array of spaces that are in need of assistance.

What about a Scribe? Remaining outside the fray, but just as engaged in the cause, Scribes are the ones who keep the Warriors informed as they head towards the chaos. Many see the efforts of Scribes, but rarely do they know the names of those that put forth the data, documentation, and dashboards which help point us in the right direction to ensure we’re making a meaningful and lasting impact.

Perhaps you are a Cultivator! Keeping an eye to the future and working with all of us to connect to that vision, connecting us all to work together towards it. Cultivators are our mentors, coaches, and generally inspire us to find the best in ourselves.

Mayhaps you prefer to tinker under the hood? Artisans are builders, creating the things that can make a tangible change. Whether they are updating things to be more accessible and inclusive, creating art to inspire action, or building and improving the tools we use to track our progress in this game, our Artisans help bring it all together.

Prefer to learn more about the various corners of the DEI realm? Wizards are our accumulators of knowledge, and often seem to have just the right information at just the right time. By finding books, articles, podcasts, videos, and online courses, Wizards’ accumulated wisdom can help drive and inform future adventures.

Are you a Bard? Who would know about the adventures unfolding without someone sharing the heroic deeds of their fellow adventurers?  By forwarding invites, sharing stories on social media, or just plain talking about what’s going on to anyone who will listen, our Storytellers help us maintain our momentum and excitement.

6 Guilds, and so many things to do!  Each guild has a set of actions to complete and each action brings a certain amount of XP for you to track your progress in this realm.

Not ready to commit to a Guild just yet?  No problem!  Multi-guild participation is not only allowed, it is encouraged! To get started, head over to DriveThruRPG to find a starter-adventure to embark on, either alone or with your friends!

Her passion for DEI and love of gaming led her to create a DEI program loosely based on role playing games to make DEI work more accessible to those who don’t know how to start, because she’s ready for more people who are systemically privileged to share the load of breaking down unnecessary barriers.
