UPDATE: As of September 17, 2024, the D&D Player’s Handbook (2024), is live on Roll20, along with the New D&D 5e (2024) Character Sheet & Builder! Learn more here!
At Roll20, our new D&D 2024 tools give you options, customization, and automation for how you want to play Dungeons & Dragons.
All 2014 and 2024 content will be available for you to use at the table – the choice is yours!
New D&D Compendium
When you search the newly redesigned D&D compendium, we’re making it clear which rulebook you are referencing. While browsing the Table of Contents, the revision is listed in the upper right corner.

We’re also looking at icons to help you distinguish between 2014 content and 2024 content. We’re building a robust search system, so part of those results will inform you which revision you’re reviewing.
Choose Your Edition, Your Way
You can easily set which compendiums you want enabled for your game and share with your players. If you only want the 2024 rulebooks, the 2014 content can be deselected under Game Settings.
If you own both core rulebooks, our new character builder will prompt you at the beginning if you want to choose the 2014 revisions or the 2024 revisions. (Look for a preview of this soon!)
When you use our new D&D character sheet and add a condition that’s changed in the revisions, such as exhaustion, the sheet will have a setting to choose which version of the rule you want to use – the new cumulative effects of reducing the roll and speed for each level, as opposed to different effects for each level. We plan on letting you choose things like weapon mastery no matter which version you’re playing.
Our goal is to empower you to mix and match the rules that work for your game. You won’t be forced into one version or the other – you can use both – and also add your own homebrew by overriding values!
Be ready to play on day one by pre-ordering the 2024 Core Rulebooks and get an exclusive bonus.
