Latest D&D 2024 Character Sheet Updates

The team is constantly bringing updates to the sheet and builder. Here’s the latest:

  • Drag & drop spells from the compendium sidebar onto your character sheet! All the relevant details automatically populate for you.
  • Additional modifiers to customize your character, like adjusting the ability tied to your AC.
  • Improvements to the spell selection step in the character builder to better serve divine and meditative spellcasters.

Read the Change Log for a complete list of updates and stay informed on the latest improvements to the sheet and builder!

Add Both D&D Sheets to Your Current Games

To make it easy to transition to the new sheet within your current campaigns, you can enable both the legacy 2014 and the new 2024 D&D 5E character sheets within your campaigns on the Roll20 Tabletop.

Each player can transition to the new sheet at their own pace. GMs can likewise continue using the legacy NPC/monster sheet with their created games while also using the new 2024 NPC/monster sheet.

To access both sheets in your campaigns, be sure the games are opted into Jumpgate, the improved Roll20 tabletop experience. This functionality will be exclusively available in the ongoing Jumpgate beta later this month. To move an existing game to Jumpate so that it can use both the legacy and new character sheets, first make a copy of the game from your game details page and then start the new copy of the game with Jumpgate enabled:

Addressing Your Feedback

We really appreciate all the thoughtful feedback we’ve received on the Sheet and Builder!

A clear theme has emerged that while some people appreciate the breathing room of the new sheet, others prefer a more information-dense view instead. With that in mind, we are working on a ‘compact’ view of the sheet to give you flexibility to choose what works best for you.

New Compact View on right | Work in progress designs, subject to change

The new compact version brings nearly every section of the sheet into view (without scrolling) in the default Roll20 Tabletop window size. All of the functionality is the same, just in a smaller display!

Please continue to send us your feedback. Happy gaming!
