It’s been an incredible month since we launched D&D 2024 on Roll20! Nearly every day, we’ve rolled out updates to enhance your gaming experience, and today, we’re excited to look back at what’s been released while giving you a peek at what’s coming next with the Dungeon Master’s Guide 2024.
What’s New Since Launch?
We’ve launched powerful new features, with more on the way! Here’s a quick look at some of the highlights, available right now:
- Automated Level-Up: Leveling up your character has never been easier. Just a few clicks, and you’re ready to go!
- Even More Drag & Drop: Feats, 2024 Features, Weapon Masteries, and Proficiencies can now be dragged directly to your character sheet.
- Starting Equipment: Choose your starting equipment or gold directly within the builder.
- NPC Compact Mode: Manage multiple NPCs with a sleek, more compact NPC sheet.
- Resource Recovery Updates: Pick your resource recovery rate and automatically recover them after the appropriate rest.
- New Custom Modifiers: Set Advantage/Disadvantage on Saving Throws and Attacks.
- Upcasting for 2024 Spells: Cast spells at higher levels with just one prompt.
We’ve also resolved over 50 player-reported issues! We are near a solution on some higher impact concerns, including:
- Data Loss: We’ve identified the key issue related to character sheet data loss that some players have experienced: the “Display to Group” button. We’ve temporarily disabled this button while we implement a fix. It’ll be back by the week of October 21st. In the meantime, GMs can manually share character sheets by adjusting permissions.
- Performance Issues: We’ve tackled lag reports within Jumpgate games. You’ll notice improved performance starting this weekend, with more updates coming next week.
There’s even more to come for the Sheet & Builder over the coming months, check out our roadmap for the latest details.
Preparing for the Dungeon Master’s Guide 2024!
The Dungeon Master’s Guide 2024 is coming in November, and we’re beyond excited to share what’s in store. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming, and how Roll20 will support it:
- Bastions. Customize bases for your players to call home, with resources, allies, and hazards. We’re developing a Bastion Sheet to track your party’s base status!
- Enhanced Automation for Items! The DMG comes with a TON of items, so we’ve decided to make that experience even better for you. Magic Items will automatically apply their spells, attacks, and effects to your sheet. Equipped items will auto-apply bonuses once attuned.
- Updated List Views. These sleek new views will help you manage the hundreds of items and resources in the DMG. We’ve begun rolling this out already, check out how good it looks!!
- DM Tools. Expect an alternate layout option for NPC sheets, plus a Roll20 add-on with Roll Tables, handouts, and references to support both new and experienced DMs.
- Greyhawk! The DMG features Greyhawk as a setting! To make sure you have the full creative power of the D&D community at your fingertips, we’ve worked with Wizards of the Coast to unlock the Greyhawk setting on DMsGuild! Publishers will be launching more incredible Greyhawk products every week to help you with all your Greyhawk needs!
