What inspired you to start creating content on DMsGuild?
It kind of happened by accident. I came up with a lot of tools for my home games, and after using them for a while, my players suggested that I should put them up on DMsGuild so other people could use them too.
What was the inspiration behind the Monster Loot series?
My players have inspired basically all my D&D products. Every time they killed something, they wanted to loot it. Eventually, I got tired of rolling on random tables that gave a dire wolf seven silver pieces, so I made Monster Loot as a tool for myself. It then got a little out of hand.

Are you a user of DMsGuild content in your own games? Do you have a favorite creator on DMsGuild?
I use DMsGuild products all the time! I really love the An Elf and an Orc Had a Little Baby series by Adam Hancock and VJ Harris. It gives so much customization to the character creation process.
What is it about dragons that you think inspires adventures?
They’re cool as hell. And they tend to have a loot cave hidden somewhere. I have a weakness for cool loot.
If you could choose one type of dragon as a benefactor, which would you choose?
Copper dragons. They love jokes and quick-wittedness, which my inner Bard really likes.
What is your favorite piece of dragon lore from within the D&D multiverse?
I love the tale of Fizban. In my home games, I often have a character show up with an entourage of seven creatures in tow, just because I know it makes my players nervous.
Do you have a favorite moment to share involving a dragon from your own table?
Once, my players were dealing with an encounter where they had to close a gate into a realm of pure chaos. It took three turns, and every turn, a player had to roll a d20, and depending on the number they rolled, a random monster would pop out that they had to deal with. On the final turn, they rolled a nat 1… which spawned an adult dragon made mad by chaos energy. Rather than fight it and most certainly die, the players hid and let the dragon escape, which resulted in the dragon terrorizing the nearby countryside for a few sessions until they figured out how to deal with it.
What’s your favorite product you’ve created on DMsGuild that’s not this one and why?
Definitely Sir Alkian’s Guide to Surviving the Apocalypse. I love dark stories and I’m a sucker for dystopias. Writing this book was such bloody fun. And it describes how to run a zombie apocalypse in D&D. That’s enough for it to earn the top spot.
Anne’s Monster Loot supplements are packed with a hoard worthy of dragon-rich adventures—and they’re only available as a free bonus for Dragon Delves until April 27. Don’t miss your chance to get them FREE with your pre-order!
