We just made Roll20 Characters a whole lot more useful. Until now, it’s been a great place to build and manage your heroes, but getting your existing VTT characters in there required some legwork. We’ve fixed that.

Introducing the Fetch button! 🦴🐕

Open Roll20 Characters, hit Fetch, and grab your character directly from your Roll20 games.

Your character is instantly imported to Roll20 Characters, where you can manage it on web, phone, or tablet. Every change syncs automatically back to the VTT. Rolls even go straight into your VTT game, whether you’re in there or not!

If you don’t want it to sync, that’s possible too. When you Fetch, you can choose Copy Character instead. You’ll get a standalone copy that’s not connected to any game.

What’s Next: Games!

This isn’t all we have planned for Roll20 Characters.  We want to make it easy for you to create, grow, and play your characters no matter where you are.

We’re about to make it easy to create a new game straight from Roll20 Characters. We’re also building tools to make it easy to access and manage your characters without entering the VTT, helping you set things up before the big first session whether you plan to play in the VTT or not (we’ve heard there are “physical” tabletops, very mysterious 🤔 )

And for D&D Fifth Edition players, Print to PDF is just around the corner, giving you even more options for how you use your sheet! Stay tuned for more coming soon to Roll20!
