We’re always working to improve the player experience, and with Project Jumpgate, we’re taking the virtual tabletop to the next level, making your experience faster and easier, and allowing you to focus on fun. Our open beta has a 94% player satisfaction rate, and 70% of testers polled indicate that they are more satisfied with Jumpgate than the legacy tabletop!
Here’s a look at what’s new since the release of Tabletop Effects.
Convert Legacy Campaigns to Jumpgate with Ease
We’ve made it simpler than ever to convert your legacy Roll20 campaigns to Jumpgate so you can enjoy the improved tabletop experience – now available at the click of a button on the My Settings menu inside the VTT. Since Jumpgate is a one-way trip (you cannot revert to legacy), a copy of your original non-Jumpgate campaign will still be accessible via the My Games page on Roll20, so you’ll have the best of both worlds as you explore Jumpgate’s new features.
Increased Storage for Roll20 Subscribers
Announced during this year’s Roll20Con Roundtable: we’ve increased the total storage space for our Roll20 subscribers:
- Plus subscribers now enjoy 4GB of storage, up from 3GB
- Pro subscribers see a boost from 8GB to 10GB
With this extra space, you can upload and organize more of your favorite maps, tokens, audio files, and other resources, enhancing the immersive experiences you create for your players. Curious about what else was shared in the Roundtable? Check out the full video here:
Copy Mod (API) Scripts
One of the top-requested features in our suggestion forums is now live! Pro subscribers can now include Mod (API) Scripts when copying games, saving hours of setup time and making it easier to carry over custom game mechanics and automation, especially for those with significant setup such as GroupInitiative for adding groups of tokens to the Turn Tracker, It’s a Trap, which allows GMs to quickly and easily set up traps on the GM layer and detect when tokens on the objects layer move over them, as well as Sheet Companion Scripts that enhance the functionality of character sheets by automating actions, calculations, and game mechanics. This feature can also be used to copy over common game additions such as TokenMod which enables macros to modify tokens, Dynamic Lighting Tool, a feature control panel and troubleshooter, and CombatMaster, which improves various aspects of combat. Dungeon Scrawl Integration Coming Soon
In case you missed it, we’ve been working on integrating Dungeon Scrawl, a simple and intuitive map-making tool designed for tabletop role-playing games, with our virtual tabletop. This exciting feature, coming later this year, will allow you to sync Dungeon Scrawl with the VTT, letting you draw maps that are instantly reflected in your Roll20 campaign; no more exporting or uploading!
Perfect for generating detailed maps on the fly when your players do something unexpected, or for preparing them ahead of time for your campaigns.
More Updates Coming Soon…
We’re continuing to gather your feedback during the Jumpgate beta period. Based on your suggestions, we’re working on user interface upgrades that will clarify and streamline the Fog of War experience, making it easier to manage what your players see during your campaigns. Stay tuned for these improvements and more in the coming months!
As always, we’re grateful for your feedback and excited to keep improving your experience!
