Introducing our sixth bonus: Bastion Building Kit (August 4-17)

With new facilities for bastions releasing in Eberron: Forge of the Artificer, this kit will help you build and customize your Bastion right in your VTT with options in two different styles.

Below, you can learn more about each of these creators and their contributions to this map pack.

Tessa Presents Bastion Room Maps | Tessa Presents Maps

What was the inspiration for this map pack?

I was very excited by the idea of Bastions in the Dungeon Masters Guide, of being able to create a place for yourself in game. I wanted to make personalised Bastion maps more accessible for anyone who didn’t have the skills or time to create that from scratch.

What inspired you to start creating content on Roll20 and DMsGuild?

I was making maps for my home Rime of the Frostmaiden campaign. LOTS of maps. And I thought, if I’ve created a map for everything in the campaign, probably other people would want that for their own game. So I put my additional maps for the adventure on DMsGuild – and people did want it! Two years into mapping campaigns I’d quit my boring job and became a full time BATTLE CARTOGRAPHER!

When Roll20 launched their partnership with DMsGuild I saw it as an opportunity to make the map packs better. I packaged them up as game addons, so if you’re playing on Roll20 you can load dozens of maps with lighting and everything in seconds, which is pretty cool.

What makes Eberron stand out from other settings and your other creations?

Magic-tech! I’m going to add the new options, and a new Bastion style for Artificers to feel at home in, and fill it all with doohickies and gizmo’s and shiny sparky bronzy things!

What’s another product they might want to check out from your offerings?

I make maps for official D&D campaigns, including versions that are Roll20 game addons. Check them out at my store link below.

I also compile a lot of resources for DMs of those campaigns, and make them available for free under the Fan Content Policy… including my original recreations of the official Rime of the Frostmaiden maps.

Build a Bastion Modular Tile Set | Tom Cartos

What was the inspiration for your bastion tile set?

I’ve always really enjoyed games where I get to build or design my own base, which is probably partly why I became a cartographer! When WotC included the new Bastion building rules in the 2024 rulebook I knew I had to make my own modular version for people to play with (and also for myself).

What inspired you to start creating content on Roll20?

I used to work as an Architect, and I’ve always loved the fantasy genre and tabletop games, so TTRPG mapmaking perfectly fit my skill set and passions. Roll20 seemed like the ideal place for my content to make sure as many people as possible could enjoy my maps.

What’s another product they might want to check out from your offerings?

If you like this style of quick and easy modular tile sets to customize your own maps, I have a huge Modular Castle set that has parts for outer ramparts and interior rooms.

Pre-order Eberron: Forge of the Artificer before July 20, 2025 and get these awesome Roll20 maps. In two weeks, come back to discover the next bonus as we march towards the release on August 19th!
