It’s that time of year again: The temperature’s dropping, jingle bells are jangling, and oh yeah, you need to buy some gifts! Well, here at Roll20, we have your back with a lineup of great gifts for your gaming group, your GM, or heck, even yourself, because making it through 2021 was no easy feat. Check out below for our picks for this holiday season.

Give some holiday magic with the newest sourcebook from Dungeons & Dragons, Strixhaven: Curriculum of Chaos from Wizards of the Coast. From the multiverse of Magic: the Gathering comes a complete rule set for creating characters studying magic at Strixhaven’s five colleges. Explore the wondrous setting over the course of four premade adventures – each encompassing an entire academic year – which can be played continuously or separately as one-shots. Filled with scholarly pursuits, campus shenanigans, exciting friendships, hidden dangers, and perhaps even romance, you’ll be hoping winter break never ends.

For those of you who enjoy shimmying down chimneys, but maybe prefer to take rather than give, there’s Blades in the Dark: Scurlock’s Bundle from Evil Hat. Get ready for heists, chases, occult mysteries, dangerous bargains, bloody skirmishes, and, above all, riches, as you and your crew of scoundrels do what needs to be done to survive on the haunted streets of an industrial-fantasy city. Challenge rival gangs, powerful noble families, vengeful ghosts, the Bluecoats of the city watch, and the siren song of your scoundrel’s own vices. The Scurlock’s Bundle includes Factions and Scores pages, tokens, backgrounds, clocks, and more to get you out there stealing stuff in no time. Also, I’m not saying you could play a session of this as a character based on the Grinch, but I’m also not not saying that.

For fans of people in red suits bringing cheer, Renegade’s Power Rangers Core Rulebook, is just the thing you’re looking for to have a Morphinominal campaign. Scheduled for an early 2022 release, and available for pre-order now, it’ll set you up for all the kicking, punching, and morphing you can handle for the coming year. With complete rules for players and GMs, including weapons, equipment, Zords, and more from the Zordon-era, you’ll be out there protecting Angel Grove from monsters in style. It even includes an introductory adventure for 1st-level characters, perfect for playing with your new Ranger. If you’re looking to familiarize yourself with the system before it releases, check out our “first look” video from Roll20Con featuring Dustin Fletcher and our own Carlos Luna.

Hear something on your rooftop in the middle of the night? It might not be a reindeer. The Call of Cthulhu: Starter Set from Chaosium can help you identify the threat, however. Take on the role of investigators and uncover dark secrets, all while encountering strange monsters and thwarting sinister cults. The Roll20 Starter Set includes everything you need to get started, including three scenarios for investigators and one solo adventure just for you, setting up the basics of the system while you explore the Cthulhu mythos.

If you’re looking to give yourself or your players some magical gifts, check out Kobold Press’s Vault of Magic. Inside, you’ll find enchanted items of every use—more than 900 in all!— including armors, weapons, potions, rings, wands, and much more, all ready for your 5th Edition game. Even more exciting, the Vault includes 30 unique items developed by special guests, including Patrick Rothfuss, Gail Simone, Deborah Ann Woll, and Luke Gygax. I personally wouldn’t mind opening my stocking to find some Candied Spider, a dessert that, when eaten, allows you to scale walls equal to your walking speed. Way better than the footed Spider-Man pajamas my well-meaning aunt sewed for me when I was 15.

For those of you who tend to make bad decisions at the holidays, we have the Fiasco Core Game from Bully Pulpit. Fiasco is an award-winning story-telling game inspired by cinematic tales of small-time capers gone disastrously wrong, with a number of sets to craft all sorts of stories of ordinary people with powerful ambition and poor impulse control. Lives and reputations will be lost, painful wisdom will be gained, and if you are really lucky, you just might end up back where you started. But let’s be honest: You probably won’t be lucky. To see Fiasco in action, check out our Fiasco First Fridays series, hosted by Jen Vaughn. And if you’re looking for even more mischief, check out the new bundle of playsets in the Roll20 Marketplace.

For your GM (or if you’re the GM), might we suggest an annual Roll20 Subscription for all the gaming in the year to come? With a subscription, you’ll get an upgraded experience with vastly increased storage space, unlocked Dynamic Lighting, enhanced customization options, monthly Roll20 Reserve items, and more. If you act quickly, you can lock in our Cyber Monday prices for the year. It’s the gift that keeps giving, all year long.

And finally, to soothe your vocal cords from all the character voices, villager interactions, and loud “animated conversations” about rules, get some B.Soothed Honey Lozenges from Beekeeper’s Naturals. Not your average cough drops, these honey lozenges are made with nature-powered ingredients that promote immune health while soothing dry, scratchy throats (and according to the website copy, they taste great, too).

Ready to shop? Head over to the Roll20 Marketplace and find the right gift for your GM (or yourself).
