September Setting Celebration: Fantasy

Embark on your next Adventure and save 25%!

This month, Roll20 is celebrating some of the genres and settings that serve as the foundation of our favorite adventures. Each week, save up to 80% on thousands of titles on the VTT and DriveThruRPG Markets.

This week, we’re celebrating the most popular setting for TTRPGs: Fantasy. Below, we’ll dive into a few titles that our partners have created to help set the scene.

Faerie Bestiary 5e

Faerie Bestiary 5e from Legendary Games is a collection of nearly 240 creatures and monsters from the Fey Realms that can be added to any new or existing game. From fauns to forestmaster unicorns, brownies to bandersnatches, tiny snapdragon leshys and titanic mosslords… you’ll find dragons of dreams, nightmares, and utter bliss alongside handmaiden devils, love-cursed erodaemons, and demons devoted to the destruction of beauty. Enjoy kindly hamadryads and lovely lillends, thundering animate arias to haunt your heroes awake and animate dreams to plague their slumber!

The Roll20 Virtual Tabletop displays a page full of Tokens depicting various fantasy creatures, as well as a character sheet for a monster.

Animated Fire Set V.2

Matt.M Animations makes some of our favorite animated effects for the VTT, and Animated Fire Set V.2 is no exception. This modernized version of the popular “Animated Fire” set uses new techniques that have overhauled the previous set, presenting a more vivid and realistic effect. Featuring fires ranging in size from tiny to large, lines of fire, shaped fire, and even a ring of flames… things will really heat up when you add these effects to your maps.

Map Pack Vol 7 – Lake Castle

Map Pack Vol 7 – Lake Castle from Crosshead is a map pack featuring 4 maps dividing a castle into 4 levels, from the dungeon underneath to the rooftops on top. Presented with gridded, ungridded, day, and night variations, the castle depicted in the art stands on the waterfront with its high walls protecting it from both land and the sea-based attacks. A single drawbridge is all that connects it to the land, providing a natural choke point when attackers dare to come at them on foot. The dungeon level under the castle provides secret access to the water.

The Roll20 Virtual Tabletop displays a gridded map of a castle basement, surrounded by water and secret tunnels.

Dark Alley Merchants

Dark Alley Merchants from Kelfecil’s Tales is a Fifth Edition rescue-mission-themed adventure for a level 10 party. It can be adapted to fit an existing campaign, played as a one-shot, or be part of the ongoing Starlight Chronicles setting that connects everything made by Kelfecil’s Tales. Featuring a 3-part map and 17 tokens, it can be modified to be played at any level by adjusting the number of monsters in it as well as their behavior.

Trails Rest

Finally, Trails Rest from Elyrian Dreams is a Map Pack containing a cozy little clearing, ideal for a quick overnight rest for your adventuring party. The set contains 14 atmospheric battlemaps featuring Day/Night – Clear/Camp/Fog/Fireflies/Lit variations.

For even more thematic celebration this week, you can head on over to the Action sale on DriveThruRPG. Next week both sites will be celebrating our favorite Super titles.
