Demiplane-powered character sheets now open much faster inside Roll20’s VTT and beyond, and we’re asking players what we should focus on next!
Faster Sheets, Smoother Games
In our last update, we shared that a smoother Roll20 + Demiplane experience depends on a few connected improvements: easier login, faster sheet loading, and snappier interactions once you’re in the sheet. The first piece (streamlined login for new users accessing Demiplane-powered content through the Roll20 VTT) is already live, making it easier to get into supported games with fewer hurdles.
Today, we’re sharing the next step in that same work: Demiplane-powered character sheets now open much faster inside the Roll20 VTT and across the Demiplane platform.
This has been one of our clearest priorities because slow sheets interrupt the flow of gameplay. Opening a character sheet shouldn’t feel like stopping the session; it should feel like part of play. We’re not all the way to “instant” yet, but with up to 90% faster loading, we are much closer to where this experience needs to be.
What This Means At Your Table
Thanks to updates to the way Demiplane-powered sheets load, render, and communicate inside Roll20, sheets that previously took 20, 40, or even 60+ seconds before are now loading in 3-6 seconds across all supported systems in both new and existing games. While the update isn’t a silver bullet, this set of platform-level fixes should make your experience faster and more reliable moving forward.
Below are a few side-by-side examples showing the loading experiences before and after our most recent release:
Pathfinder 2e Level 20 Wizard (School of Battle Magic)
Prior Load Time (estimate): ~ 78 seconds
Current Load Time (Estimate): ~ 4-5 seconds

Daggerheart Giant Stalwart Guardian
Prior Load Time (estimate): ~ 19 seconds
Current Load Time (estimate): ~ 3-4 seconds

Pathfinder Creature Sheet – Adult Adamantine Dragon
Prior Load Time (estimate): ~ 15 seconds
Current Load Time (estimate): ~ 3-4 seconds

Where to Next?
Now that sheet loads are in a much better place, we want you to help us decide what to work on next:
- Rolling from the sheet?
- Using actions, spells, or abilities?
- Managing NPCs during a session?
- Something else entirely?
Your feedback helped guide this round of work, and we’re looking forward to hearing where the next path might take us. Take the survey here.
Thank you to everyone who has shared feedback, reported issues, tested the integration, and kept telling us where the experience needed to improve. We’re looking forward to announcing what comes next!
See you at the table!
Peter
